The role of pharmacists in atrial fibrillation: a systematic review protocol

While studies suggest pharmacist-led interventions enhance clinical outcomes in a variety of cardiovascular conditions, data on their impact in atrial fibrillation (AF) care have not been synthesized. As AF is the most prevalent sustained arrhythmia and a major contributor to cardiovascular morbidity, we aim to provide an updated synthesis of available evidence on the pharmacist’s role in optimizing patient’s outcomes.

Abstract

While studies suggest pharmacist-led interventions enhance clinical outcomes in a variety of cardiovascular conditions, data on their impact in atrial fibrillation (AF) care have not been synthesized. As AF is the most prevalent sustained arrhythmia and a major contributor to cardiovascular morbidity, we aim to provide an updated synthesis of available evidence on the pharmacist’s role in optimizing patient’s outcomes.
