Auracast® and Hearing Devices: Scoping Review Protocol on Connectivity and Auditory Accessibility
This study presents the development of a protocol for a Scoping Review aimed at identifying and synthesizing the available scientific evidence on Bluetooth Low Energy Audio with Auracast®, an innovation designed to integrate wireless audio technologies and enhance auditory accessibility for individuals with hearing loss. The protocol follows the methodology established by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), as described in the Reviewers’ Manual (2024), and includes the following steps: (1) Title and research question development; (2) Introduction; (3) Inclusion criteria; (4) Search strategy; (5) Selection of evidence sources; (6) Data extraction; (7) Evidence analysis; and (8) Presentation of results. The proposed scoping review aims to consolidate and critically organize information on Auracast® technology, highlighting its application in hearing devices and its impact on auditory accessibility in public environments. By systematically and transparently integrating the available evidence, this study seeks to provide scientific insights that contribute to advancing research in the field, addressing the benefits, challenges, and implications of this technological innovation in auditory health.
