Global milestones in neonatal nursing as a professional field for nurses: Scoping review protocol

The development of this review is motivated by the interest of the group of researchers in understanding how the professionalization of nurses in the field of neonatology occurred worldwide. The researchers involved in the study are references in their institutions for studies in the fields of history, sociology, philosophy and education in nursing. Thus, when considering these characteristics, we believe that the synthesis of evidence on the formation of a new locus of action will contribute to addressing the health needs of the population, reverberating social recognition, respect for the space of action and legitimacy of the work of nurses in the field of neonatology.
