UV Impacts on Clownfish Embryos

This study investigates the impacts of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) from sunlight on clownfish embryos. Embryos were exposed daily to control (no UVR), low UVR (80 µW m-2) and high UVR (280 µW m-2 ) treatments. The high and low UVR levels represent embryos laid at their shallow and deep parts of their depth range, respectively. We measured daily changes in survival, and DNA damage, mass and yolk volume at 2 and 5 dpf (days post fertilization).
