ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF STIMULUS-RESPONSE THEORY IN BEHAVIORISTIC THEORY ON THE FORMATION OF SOCIAL BEHAVIOR IN THE SCOPE OF ADOLESCENT FRIENDSHIP
This study examines the impact of stimulus-response theory in the behavioristic approach on the formation of social behavior among adolescents in the context of friendship. The behavioristic approach highlights the relationship between the stimulus coming from the environment and the reaction seen in the form of behavior. In adolescent friendship environments, stimuli from the social context, such as interacting with peers and content on social media, play an important role in shaping their social attitudes and behaviors. This research applies a qualitative method with data collection from existing literature to explore the topic. Findings from the analysis show that positive stimuli, such as social support and peer reinforcement, can encourage good and prosocial social behavior among adolescents. Meanwhile, negative stimuli can trigger less beneficial social behaviors. The study also revealed that social media serves as a significant source of key stimuli in shaping adolescents' self-development attitudes and behaviors, which influence their social interactions. In addition, social support as well as interpersonal interactions proved to be key factors in creating positive social behaviors among adolescents.Understanding how this stimulus-response works can provide assistance to educators and counselors in designing effective intervention measures to guide adolescents' social behaviors through the management of appropriate environmental stimuli.
