Social inequality in Indonesia from a conflict theory perspective: a sociological literature review

This study aims to examine how social inequality in Indonesia can be understood from the perspective of conflict theory in sociology. Inequality is not only about economics, but also includes access to education, health, and power. In this study, a literature study method was used, namely reviewing books, scientific journals, and relevant official reports. The results of the study show that social inequality in Indonesia is a structural problem that continues to be inherited and reinforced by the economic, political, and cultural systems. Conflict theory developed by figures such as Karl Marx, Max Weber, and Pierre Bourdieu is used to understand how elite groups maintain their dominance over lower-class society.
