Stages and Costs of Processing Donated Corneal Tissue for Transplantation: A Scoping Review Protocol
This scoping review aims to map the stages and costs involved in the processing of donated corneal tissue for transplantation in Eye Banks (EBs). Guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology and reported in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, the review will synthesize global evidence from scientific publications and grey literature. It will include studies of various methodological designs that address keratoplasty within the context of EBs. The protocol outlines a systematic three-phase selection process, data extraction using a JBI-adapted tool, and descriptive synthesis of results to better understand the stages and financial dimensions of corneal tissue processing in EBs.
