Background Data for Stakeholders Perspectives on Comprehensive Review of the IMO STCW

This study examines decision-makers perspectives on the review, focusing on integrating emerging educational technologies and facilitating flexible, high-quality training environments. Using a qualitative methodology that combines analysis of IMO documents and semi-structured interviews with representatives of the IMO’s Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training, and Watchkeeping (HTW), we employed thematic analysis to identify key themes.
