Autódromo de Deodoro ou Floresta do Camboatá: redes tecnopolíticas no território

The construction of the Deodoro Racetrack implicated in the deforestation of the Camboatá Forest, the last remaining lowlands variation of the Atlantic Forest biome in the City of Rio de Janeiro. The resistance to the project, which was organized by the SOS Camboatá Forest social movement for over ten years, developed action strategies associated to the progress of technological innovation in communication. The conflict's study led us to analytically rebuild two antagonistic action networks: the Racetrack Network and the Forest Network. Both are formed by actors in civil society, State and international agents. Methodologically, categories and concepts in interdisciplinarity were applied, aiming to examine how the two networks organized themselves in the vital and virtual spaces. The gathering of data was carried out by elaborating a chronology of action regarding the political facts of each network, from 2008 to 2022. A conflict is defined between them: on one side, the Racetrack Network, which includes corporations of the international capital to turn the urban space into a resource, in order to accumulate capital; and, on the other side, the Forest Network, which is formed by the participation of local citizens and advocates for shelter, for the right to the city.
