Levitation Performance of the High-Temperature Superconducting Scaled-Vehicle Under Magnetic Field Irregularity by Six Degrees of Freedom of Electromagnetic Force-Dynamics Coupling Model

High-temperature superconducting (HTS) maglev holds great promise for achieving higher speeds in future rail transportation. Southwest Jiaotong University has been conducting research in this field for over 30 years. However, the irregularities present in permanent magnet guideways (PMGs) significantly impact the operational performance of HTS maglev vehicles. To tackle this issue, this paper combines HTS 6-degree-of-freedom magnetic force calculations with multi-body dynamics to establish a comprehensive model. The levitation performance of the model vehicle under four types of irregularities is thoroughly examined through simulation. The results demonstrate that magnetic field uniformity can be controlled within ±5%, while the variance in height difference remains within 1 mm2. The optimal field cooling height for the scaled-vehicle HTS maglev vehicle is found to be 20 mm. This paper provides a valuable model and data reference for future high-speed operation of HTS magnetic levitation systems.
