Methodology for selecting an estimation of vehicle controllability and stability parameters

\nThis paper presents the results of estimation of the controllability and stability of vehicles when driving on roads with a low coefficient of adhesion. The currently existing methods for determining these parameters are described, their main advantages and disadvantages are noted. Based on the analysis of statistical data on road accidents, a new parameter of controllability and stability has been proposed - the stability of the vehicle’s trajectory during braking when lateral forces act on it. Its permissible numerical values are determined and verification methods are proposed. The results obtained make it possible to improve road safety when operating a vehicle in difficult road conditions.\n
