Computational and experimental determination of laser hardening zones and tribotechnical characteristics of tool steels

\nThe paper presents the results of metallographic studies and tribotechnical tests of samples of Cr12V1 steel with laser hardening. The influence of the processing modes of the edge of the samples on the geometric parameters of the quenching zones and their microhardness was determined using a factor experiment. It was found that the maximum effect on the width and depth of the quenching zones was exerted by the radiation power and the speed of beam movement in the processing direction. The maximum values of microhardness were obtained by laser quenching with transverse beam vibrations at maximum radiation power and minimum processing speed. Tests for the intensity of wear were carried out according to the scheme: “a flat sample (steel Cr12V1) is the end face of the sleeve counter sample (steel 40Cr) when lubricated with industrial oil I20A. The wear resistance of samples hardened by a laser oscillating beam is significantly higher than samples with volumetric hardening.\n
