Optimization of a honey dehydration system using a Grey-based Taguchi method
The main focus of this work is to find the optimized set of operational parameters of an existing honey dehydration using a heat pump system integrated with a drying tower. The investigated operational parameters are the drying agent temperature, the speed of the fan circulating the drying agent, and the number of drying tower sections. The study employs a Grey-based Taguchi method to address multi-response optimization challenges. Optimal operating conditions are identified with the target of minimizing energy consumption and maintaining honey quality, in terms of honey’s temperature and moisture content.
