Abstract

Due to their good wearability, smart fabrics have gradually\ndeveloped\ninto one of the important components of multifunctional flexible electronics.\nNevertheless, function integration is typically accomplished through\nthe intricate stacking of diverse modules, which inevitably compromises\ncomfort and elevates processing complexities. The integration of these\ndiscrete functional modules into a unified design for smart fabrics\nrepresents a superior solution. Here, we put forward a rational approach\nto functional integration for the typical challenges of thermal management,\nenergy supply, and surface contamination in smart fabrics. This sandwich-structured\nmultilayer fabric (MLF) is obtained by continuous electrospinning\nof two layer P(VDF-HFP) fabric and one layer P(VDF-HFP) fabric functionalized\nwith core–shell SiO2/ZnO/ZIF-8 (SZZ) nanoparticles.\nSpecifically, MLFs achieve effective and stable energy harvesting\nin triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) with hydrophobicity and antibacterial\nproperties. Meanwhile, MLFs also have high mid-infrared emissivity\nand sunlight reflectivity, successfully realizing radiative cooling\nunder different climates, and have been applied in wearing clothing,\nroof shading, and car covers. This work may contribute to the design\nand manufacturing of next-generation thermal comfort smart fabrics\nand wearable electronics, particularly in terms of the rational design\nof multifunctional devices.
