A Cell Adhesive Radial\nNanofiber Membrane for Promoting\nDiabetes Wound Healing
Diabetic wounds are extremely difficult to heal due to\nthe long\nduration and high recurrence rate. The bacterial infection caused\nby elevated blood glucose negatively affects the speed of wound healing.\nIn this article, radially oriented nanofibers containing the natural\nantimicrobial agent purslane were prepared by electrostatic spinning.\nSubsequently, asiaticoside was loaded onto the surface of the fibers\nby electrostatic spraying. The experimental results indicated that\nradial nanofiber membranes exhibited uniform diameter distribution,\nsuitable water vapor permeability, and good hydrophilicity as well\nas excellent antibacterial performance and biocompatibility. Due to\nthe ordered arrangement, the radial nanofibers exhibited good wound\nhealing ability, regular granulation tissue growth, and high collagen\ndeposition. More importantly, the radially oriented fiber structure\nsignificantly promoted cell proliferation and adhesion. Based on these\nresults, nanofiber membranes with a radially oriented structure have\npotential application prospects in the field of chronic diabetic wound\nhealing.
