π‑Expanded\n[6]Helicene-Containing Nanographenes:\nSynthesis, Structures, and Chiroptical Properties

A family of chiral nanographenes bearing [6]helicene\nunits has\nbeen synthesized via the classical Scholl reaction. Inserting the\n[6]helicene unit into the parent nanographene skeleton can result\nin different structural topologies and optoelectric properties. Moreover,\nthe isolated enantiomers exhibit attractive chiroptical properties.

Abstract

A family of chiral nanographenes bearing [6]helicene\nunits has\nbeen synthesized via the classical Scholl reaction. Inserting the\n[6]helicene unit into the parent nanographene skeleton can result\nin different structural topologies and optoelectric properties. Moreover,\nthe isolated enantiomers exhibit attractive chiroptical properties.
