Abstract

Dithiane chemistry is increasingly advantageous in the\ndevelopment\nof novel anion relay chemistry (ARC) modes that harness their umpolung\nproperties to address new chemical challenges. Herein, we report the\nuse of an ARC strategy to promote the regioselective carbonyl alkyne\nmetathesis (CAM) of various carbonyl compounds with alkynyl 1,3-dithianes.\nNotably, this ARC transformation provides a platform for obtaining\nstereodefined polysubstituted 1,3-dienes.
