Liver Steatosis Evaluation in Transplantation: Near-Infrared Diffuse reflectance Spectroscopy

We present a novel approach for quantitative assessment of hepatic steatosis using near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (NIR-DRS). Based on an analytical diffusion model, our method enables real-time evaluation of tissue composition. Validation on a murine model shows excellent correlation with histopathology.

Abstract

We present a novel approach for quantitative assessment of hepatic steatosis using near-infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (NIR-DRS). Based on an analytical diffusion model, our method enables real-time evaluation of tissue composition. Validation on a murine model shows excellent correlation with histopathology.
