Croceiramulus getboli gen. nov., sp. nov., a marine bacterium isolated from the tidal flat
A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile and golden-yellow pigmented bacterium, designated strain YJPT1-3T, was isolated from a tidal flat sediment collected in Yongyu-do, Republic of Korea. The strain grew optimally at 30 °C, pH 7.0, and with 2% (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences placed strain YJPT1-3T within the family <i>Flavobacteriaceae</i>, with the closest relatives being <i>Arenibacter nanhaiticus</i> NH36AT (90.3%), <i>Sediminicola luteus</i> CNI-3T (90.2%), <i>Muriicola soli</i> MMS17-SY002T (90.0%), <i>C. algicola</i> DSM 14237T (90.0%) and <i>Eudoraea chungangensis</i> CAU 1296T (89.9%). Comparative genome analyses with closely related species revealed that strain YJPT1-3T exhibited average nucleotide identity analysis values ranging from 67.1% to 67.9% and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values between 24.8% and 31.0%. The genome of strain YJPT1-3T consisted of a single circular contig of 3.16 Mb with a G+C content of 45.8 mol%. The predominant cellular fatty acids were C15 : 0 iso (18.8%), C15 : 1 iso G (15.4%) and SF3 (C16 : 1 <i> </i>ω6c and/or C16 : 1 <i> </i>ω<i>7c</i>, 11.0%), while the major respiratory quinone was MK-6. The polar lipid profile included phosphatidylethanolamine, aminolipids, polar lipids and four unidentified lipids. Based on phenotypic, phylogenetic, genomic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, strain YJPT1-3T represents a novel genus within the family <i>Flavobacteriaceae</i>, for which the name <i>Croceiramulus getboli</i> gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YJPT1-3T (=KCTC 102028T=KACC 23272T=JCM 36479T).
