Augmented Reality For Assessment Symmetry In Breast Surgery: A Clinical Feasibility Study

Background: Deficiency of soft tissue in the distal extremities is a frequent complication of infections, tumor removal, trauma, and burns.Aim: To evaluate the feasibility of the medial sural artery perforator-free flap in reconstructing soft tissue defects in upper lower limbs.Patients and methods: This prospective study involved twenty cases who presented at the outpatient clinic of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Al-Hussein & Bab El-Sheria University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Al-Azhar University, with soft tissue defects affecting both the upper and lower limbs. They were divided into two groups: Group A: 10 patients with defects in the distal upper limb, and Group B: 10 patients with defects in the distal lower limb. Results: According to physical examination, no statistical variance among both groups was found according to the length and width of the defect. According to recipient vessels in group A, there were 70% of patients with ulnar artery, and 30% of patients with superficial radial artery, while in group B, there were 30% of patients with dorsal pedal artery, 60% of patients with post tibial artery, 10% of patients with anterior tibial artery. Conclusion: With low morbidity at the donor location, the medial sural artery perforator (MSAP) is a simple, dependable flap. Either the upper or lower extremitie
