Correlation between Serum fructosamine level and severity, complexity of coronary artery diseases in patients undergoing elective PCI
Background: Diabetic coronary disease is a combination of coronary disorder, heart autonomic neuropathy, and diabetic cardiomyopathy, and these diseases are depicted by sub-nuclear, hidden, and changes in the myocardium. Objective: To assess the correlation between fructosamine level and the severity of coronary artery disease by calculating SYNTAX SCORE and GENSINI SCORE in diabetic patients with symptomatic chronic coronary syndrome undergoing elective coronary angiography.Patients and Methods: In the current cross-sectional study, we enrolled 200 diabetic patients with symptomatic chronic coronary syndrome who presented to the National Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology clinic for elective coronary angiography. Results: Fructosamine level and HBa1c are statistically significantly associated with the severity of coronary artery disease regarding SYNTAX SCORE and GENSINI SCORE in diabetic patients with symptomatic chronic coronary syndrome undergoing elective coronary angiographyConclusion: Fructosamine level and HbA1c are statistically significantly associated with the severity of coronary artery disease regarding SYNTAX SCORE and GENSINI SCORE in diabetic patients with symptomatic chronic coronary syndrome undergoing elective coronary angiography.
