Improving productivity and berries quality of Mid Night Beauty grapes by spraying some organic acids and micro elements
This study investigated the effects of foliar application of citric acid, salicylic acid, and mineral fertilizers with boron, individually or in combination, on the productivity and quality of “Mid Night Beauty” grapevines during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The untreated control exhibited the lowest performance, with 24 clusters per vine and yields of 5.16-7.59 kg/vine. Application of citric acid alone moderately improved reproductive traits, whereas salicylic acid markedly increased cluster number, yield, and berry weight. Mineral fertilizer with boron significantly enhanced cluster number (28.33-31.00) and yield (10.08-13.08 kg/vine), highlighting boron’s critical role in pollen viability, sugar translocation, and fruit set. Combined treatments produced the most remarkable improvements. The highest productivity was recorded with Mineral 2 cm + B 2 g + Salicylic acid 2 g, achieving 41.33–46.00 clusters/vine, yields of 17.53-31.69 kg/vine, cluster weights of 524.3–932 g, and 100-berry weights of 426-456 g. Fruit quality attributes, including total soluble solids (TSS), TSS/acidity ratio, and vitamin C content, were significantly enhanced by combined applications.
