Developing and validating a spectrophotometric and FTIR method for estimating paracetamol in bulk and dosage form

In order to identify and estimate the purity, accuracy, precision, and recovery of certain pharmaceutical medications, our study primarily aims to confirm the sensitivity and specificity of the two distinct analytical method types utilized across the branches. The techniques used in this situation are FTIR and UV spectrophotometry. The UV-spectrophotometric approach has been established for the determination of paracetamol in pharmaceutical formulations, and it is straightforward, quick, sensitive, and accurate. Ammonium molybdate and sulfuric acid were used as a solvent in the method's development, and absorbance was measured at 525 nm. The area under the curve and the test drug concentration were estimated using the FTIR spectral peaks. The medication demonstrated linearity in both instances, and LOD and LOQ verified the accuracy. It was discovered that both approaches had a drug recovery rate of above 99%. According to ICH criteria, the approach was validated. The suggested approach for estimating paracetamol in tablet dose form is sensitive and cost-effective. In order to screen for any interference from the excipients, we employed the designated drug and the chosen analytical method to demonstrate the method's accuracy, precision, and specificity as well as the purity and quality of the estimated medicines.
