Positive Energy in Sustainable Industrial Buildings
Sustainability of industrial buildings is a growing field in academic research and engineering practice, given their significant role in energy consumption and carbon emissions. This research aims to examine the concept of positive energy buildings (PEBs) as an approach to achieving sustainable development in the industrial sector. The research focuses on design strategies that enhance energy efficiency and increase reliance on renewable energy sources, while presenting a historical background of the development of energy reduction efforts in industrial buildings and a review of the relevant scientific literature. Global case studies are also analyzed, demonstrating how renewable energy is integrated into industry, leading to the development of a proposed application model for an energy-positive industrial building. The findings aim to provide practical recommendations that can contribute to reducing emissions, improving resource efficiency, and supporting sustainability policies in the industry.
