Correlation between Adhd Children and History of Their Parents Bipolar Disorders
Background/aim: Characterized by persistent inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is among the most common mental illnesses that begin in infancy. Comorbidity between ADHD and bipolar illness is rather common. Anxietiesis in parents with bipolar disorder is the focus of this investigation.Patients and Methods: To exclude children who came from homes where only one parent had ADHD, we assessed both parents of the 100 children who tested positive for the disorder. Researchers at Al-Mamoura Hospital's child psychiatric clinic surveyed parents and children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for this research. Results: One hundred children and two hundred parents with bipolar illness participated in this research. Anxiety affected 33.5% of the parents surveyed, while 49% suffered from depression and 39% from drug use disorders. The severity of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was shown to be significantly correlated with level of schooling. A mere four percent of the parents were bipolar. Conclusions: Parents with bipolar illness do not increase the likelihood of ADHD in their preschool-aged children. While there is an increased incidence of depression, anxiety, drug abuse, and ADHD among children whose parents have the illness.
