Requirements of Social Adaptation Strategies of Egyptian Farmers to Climate Change from the Experts’ Perspective: A Proposed Framework
This study aims to identify the requirements and social adaptation strategies of Egyptian farmers in coping with climate change from the perspective of experts, through a proposed framework that enhances rural resilience and sustainability. The research employed a descriptive-analytical approach alongside the three-stage Delphi technique, engaging 30 experts in agriculture, rural development, and environmental studies. Results revealed a high level of consensus among experts regarding three main pillars of social adaptation: balance, resistance, and support. The resistance pillar ranked first in importance, followed by balance and support. The study concluded that the effectiveness of farmers’ social adaptation depends on the integration of these three pillars, combining individual efforts with institutional backing. The proposed framework seeks to strengthen agricultural resilience, ensure food security, and build sustainable rural communities capable of effectively confronting climate change.
