Prominent teaching hospitals are facing multi-million-dollar operating deficits in Ontario. Hamilton Health Sciences and The Ottawa Hospital each reported operating deficits of more than $20 million in 2025 (Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation 2025; The Ottawa Hospital 2025).
