Correlation Analysis Between Simulated Heat Generation and Battery Degradation Under Fast Charging
This paper explores the relationship between battery degradation and thermal behavior under fast-charging protocols using a second-order electro-thermal equivalent circuit model (ECM). By simulating 66 charging profiles, we extract heat generation features and analyze the correlation with end-oflife. Results show strong negative correlations between cumulative heat and lifespan. Nonlinear metrics such as mutual information and distance correlation confirm these dependencies. The findings support the use of heat generation as an early predictor of degradation, enabling future health-aware charging strategies.
