The genome sequence of the silvereye, Zosterops lateralis (Latham, 1802) (Passeriformes: Zosteropidae)

<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns3:italic>Zosterops lateralis</ns3:italic> (Silvereye; Chordata; Aves; Passeriformes; Zosteropidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 143.49 megabases and 1 047.43 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (97.33%) is scaffolded into 41 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes, and 94.96% of haplotype 2 is scaffolded into 39 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.82 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>

Abstract

</ns3:p>
