Parakleses to the venerable Parasceve of epibatae according to transcripts from 15th and 16th century

The paper presents text-editions of the two remaining unpublished copies of the Paraklesis to our Venerable mother Parasceve. The two copies are found in the Library of the Romanian Academy of Sciences in Bucharest, with the shelf-marks being BAR Slav. 215 (from 15th century) and BAR Slav. 103. (from 16th century). Parakleses remain one of the few significant hymnographic inovations of the South Slavic liturgical domain in the 14th century. The paper addresses their non-menaian nature, thanks to which they could have been completed whenever the need arose. The paper also provides a brief overview of the manuscript heritage and different traditions of these parakleses, highlighting the main features of the canons they comprise. This publication concludes the edition of all currently known parakleses dedicated to St. Parasceve (along with their copies) in the South Slavic manuscript heritage, thus enabling future examinations of the interrelationship between theses parakleses and various redactions of the Menaian office to the saint.
