Laboratory canal device modelling based on piecewise affine modelling and multimodelling approaches
A laboratory canal device has been designed for research and teaching purposes for students. The main objective is to reproduce the canal dynamics and test modelling and control approaches. It helps raise awareness and train future engineers to contribute to efficient water management of hydrographic systems in a context of climate change and population growth. In this paper two modelling approaches based on PieceWise Affine (PWA) and multimodel are introduced and tested with an academic example. The laboratory canal device is presented, its upstream tank controlled with a CRONE approach, and first results obtained with multimodels are presented.
