Gastric carcinoma presenting as chronic subdural hematoma in a young 24-year-old female
Abstract Chronic subdural hematoma (SDH) is usually associated with traumatic etiology, whereas non-traumatic SDH is uncommon. It is exceptional for systemic malignant disease to be metastasized to the cranial dura, and it is also extremely rare for diffuse metastases to appear as chronic SDH. We report a case of a 24-year-old female presenting with complaints of vomiting, seizures, and right hemiparesis and subsequently was found to have left fronto-temporo-parietal SDH on computed tomography scan of the brain. Further evaluation showed that the patient had hemorrhagic intradural metastases secondary to gastric carcinoma.
