Probabilistic risk assessment of HPR1000 unit in the application of industrial steam supply
Nuclear energy offers notable advantages in reducing fossil fuel consumption and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. At present, nuclear power generation represents the primary mode of nuclear energy utilization. Beyond electricity product ion, nuclear energy also finds broad applications in areas such as industrial steam supply, seawater desalination, and district heating. This study focuses on the HPR1000 pressurized water reactor unit, conducting an internal event level 1 probabilistic risk assessment for its deployment in industrial steam supply scenarios. Initiating event analysis is employed to assess the impact of the steam supply design on the HPR1000 reactor system. Utilizing the RiskSpectrum PRA software, an internal event level 1 probabilistic risk assessment model is developed, and the core damage frequency associated with the steam supply application is calculated. The results demonstrate that the steam supply design introduces minimal impact on the core damage frequency of the HPR1000, while remaining within the acceptable bounds of probabilistic safety objectives.
