Reliability analysis of trough solar concentrator bracket based on FEA

This study presents a comprehensive mechanical reliability assessment of a trough-type solar concentrator bracket under multi-hazard coupling conditions using finite element analysis. Static analysis demonstrates the structure's load-bearing capacity under extreme composite loading conditions, with stress levels remaining below the material's yield limit. The modal analysis identifies three distinct modes in the natural frequency distribution, revealing a stiffness transition phenomenon coupled with dynamic characteristics that inform frequency avoidance design strategies. Buckling analysis confirms the critical load significantly exceeds operational requirements, satisfying stability conditions. Seismic spectrum analysis indicates minimal system response under strong earthquake excitation. The results validate the bracket's reliability in multi-hazard environments, while the proposed mechanical evaluation framework offers theoretical guidance for optimizing solar support structure designs in arid regions.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive mechanical reliability assessment of a trough-type solar concentrator bracket under multi-hazard coupling conditions using finite element analysis. Static analysis demonstrates the structure's load-bearing capacity under extreme composite loading conditions, with stress levels remaining below the material's yield limit. The modal analysis identifies three distinct modes in the natural frequency distribution, revealing a stiffness transition phenomenon coupled with dynamic characteristics that inform frequency avoidance design strategies. Buckling analysis confirms the critical load significantly exceeds operational requirements, satisfying stability conditions. Seismic spectrum analysis indicates minimal system response under strong earthquake excitation. The results validate the bracket's reliability in multi-hazard environments, while the proposed mechanical evaluation framework offers theoretical guidance for optimizing solar support structure designs in arid regions.
