Optimization of spares inventory strategy considering lateral transshipments
This study proposes an inventory strategy based on lateral transshipments, aimed at addressing the uncertainty associated with spare parts maintenance demand and the commonly uneven distribution of inventory. The strategy incorporates two transfer methods: maximum inventory point and nearest inventory point, and develops corresponding models to assess carbon emissions. A horizontal inventory transfer model is established under a single-cycle complete transfer strategy, enabling emergency replenishment while minimizing the total system cost. The findings indicate that adopting a lateral transshipment strategy significantly reduces the overall system cost and enhances the service satisfaction rate of the troops.
