A brief discussion on the applicability of marine fire extinguishers
This article systematically explores the applicability and configuration strategies of marine fire extinguishers based on the characteristics of ship fires and the features of ship fire protection design. Firstly, it summarizes the development characteristics of ship fires. Afterwards, the performance characteristics of dry powder, gas (carbon dioxide, heptafluoropropane), and foam extinguishing agents were analyzed. Next, based on different fire hazard areas, fire types, and fire environment characteristics, differentiated configuration suggestions are proposed, and a theoretical basis and practical reference for ship fire protection design and fire prevention and control practices are provided.
