Reliability analysis of rudder mechanism considering hinge
In aerospace engineering, the rudder mechanism is critical to aircraft maneuvering performance, and kinematic accuracy failur e cannot be overlooked. This study establishes kinematic equations with hinge gaps using kinematic theory, constructs a kinematic accuracy failure function considering multi-factor randomness, and analyzes failure probability and local sensitivity via the Monte Carlo method. The results show that the hinge radial gap has a large impact. A genetic algorithm is then employed to optimize hinge gap allocation, reduce failure probability, and analyze the influence of connecting rod length on failure probability. These findings provide theoretical support for enhancing rudder mechanism reliability and ensuring flight safety, while facilitating the advancement of related aerospace technologies.
