Research on the characteristics of field-type twin-unit wake flow and array arrangement scheme
Based on the NREL 5 MW wind turbine, this study examines the effects of wind speed and yaw wind direction on wake characteristics and turbine layout. Results indicate that the wake length increases with incoming wind speed, although the rate of growth diminishes near the rated wind speed. Furthermore, yawing conditions modify the conventional field-type layout into a plum blossom-type configuration, which effectively mitigates wake interference on downstream turbines. Considering factors such as wind farm economics, layout efficiency, and operational indicators, the T-Case2 configuration minimizes wake loss under rated wind conditions, while the T-Case4 layout demonstrates greater advantages under yawed conditions. This study elucidates the mechanisms by which wind speed sensitivity and yaw effects influence wake evolution and proposes an array optimization strategy tailored to varying wind scenarios, providing a theoretical foundation for enhancing overall wind farm efficiency.
