Analysis of multi-directional stiffness characteristics of laminated coupling
The multi-directional stiffness characteristics of laminated couplings have a direct influence on the dynamic response and operational reliability of transmission systems. This study systematically examines the mechanical behavior of the coupling under combined loading conditions by developing a finite element model that incorporates nonlinear contact interactions and bolt preload effects. The analysis reveals that, under the action of simultaneous torsional, axial, radial, and angular loads, the laminate pack undergoes globally symmetric deformation accompanied by localized nonlinear separation. Notably, pronounced warping deformation is observed in the torsional direction due to interfacial slip phenomena. The resulting stiffness characteristics exhibit a typical rigid-flexible coupling behavior. Specifically, the primary stiffness directions display high load-bearing capacity, with elevated torsional and radial stiffness values contributing to enhanced transmission stability. In contrast, the compensation directions exhibit low impedance, with relatively small axial and angular stiffness values that effectively accommodate dynamic displacement deviations. These findings offer a theoretical foundation for the optimized design of splined couplings and contribute to improved reliability in engineering applications.
