Research on the current development status of protective coating materials for equipment
The landscape of modern warfare is undergoing rapid transformation. As a critical element of emerging combat capabilities, the advancement of equipment protection technologies directly influences the survivability and operational effectiveness of military forces. Corrosion, wear, and accidental damage constitute primary factors affecting the performance and service life of military equipment. Current research highlights that the integration of multi-material systems, intelligent manufacturing technologies, and environmentally adaptive design represents the principal direction for the development of future protective coatings. This paper systematically reviews the research progress in corrosion protective coatings, wear-resistant coatings, and self-healing coatings Emphasis is placed on the analysis of material systems, fabrication techniques, performance enhancement strategies, and underlying functional mechanisms, with the objective of offering essential material and technological foundations to support the enhancement of next-generation combat capabilities.
