Multifunctional, Flexible and Interactive PVDF Fibers with Tunable Conductivity via CNT Coatings for Sensing and Smart Textile Applications (Adv. Funct. Mater. 51/2025)

Smart Textiles In their Research Article, (10.1002/adfm.202515157), Urszula Stachewicz and co-workers present a multifunctional, conductive textile based on electrospun polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) fibers coated with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via electrophoretic deposition (EPD). This two-step fabrication strategy yields highly conductive, porous, and stretchable mats that maintain exceptional breathability and Mechanical performance. With tunable conductivity, low impedance, and elongation approaching 600%, these composites function as versatile sensors for pressure, motion, respiration, and temperature monitoring. Combining comfort, durability, and scalable production, this work paves the way for next-generation smart textiles for wearable electronics.
