De‐Saturation of Single‐Atom Copper Catalysts for Accelerating Propargylic Substitution Reactions (Adv. Mater. 50/2025)
De-Saturation of Single-Atom Copper Catalysts In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202509221), Jiong Lu, Yafei Zhao, Shibo Xi, and co-workers introduce a de-saturation strategy that efficiently converts the CuN4 into CuN3 under a KOH-mediated Joule thermal shock. The resulting de-saturated CuN3 catalysts promote copper–alkyny formation and significantly enhance catalytic performance. Symbolically, the CuN4—with a molecular weight of exactly 120—celebrates the 120th anniversary of NUS.
