A one-step synthesis of chiral multifluorine-substituted-alkoxy boranils using H 3 BO 3 as the boron source
We report a one-step synthesis of chiral multifluorine-substituted-alkoxy boranils using H3BO3 as the boron source. With salicyloxazolines or <i>in situ</i> generated <i>N</i>,<i>O</i>-Schiff bases as ligands, a series of chiral mono- and bis-boron complexes were obtained in moderate to good yields in the presence of hexafluoroisopropanol or perfluoropinacol. The photophysical properties of several representative compounds were evaluated through fluorescence spectroscopy, achieving up to 75.5% quantum yields. Scale-up synthesis further demonstrated the utility of this protocol.
