Institutions and employee intrapreneurship: does gender matter?
Innovation within an organization may depend on Intrapreneurship employee-related antecedents. This research draws upon institutional theory to investigate whether the external environment, in terms of formal or informal institutions, affects the likelihood of employee Intrapreneurship and to what extent gender can benefit from each side of institutions.Exploratory factor analysis and binomial logistic regression were applied to understand the relationship between institutions and employee Intrapreneurship among Genders. The findings conclude that organizations should proactively engage with and adapt to the formal institutional context to cultivate an intrapreneurial culture that encourages employee creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial behavior. At the same time, gender plays a significant moderating role in establishing a robust connection between formal institutional factors and intrapreneurship. These findings can potentially develop intrapreneurship within organizations by tailoring the institutional environment accordingly.
