A service evaluation of a training session delivered by North Staffordshire Neuropsychology (NSN), an NHS service, to the charitable sector: Headway, a local branch of the national brain injury charity
North Staffordshire Neuropsychology (NSN), an NHS neuropsychology service based in Stoke-on-Trent, delivered a one-hour training session to a charitable organisation: Headway North Staffordshire, surrounding the common cognitive domains and cognitive effects of brain injury. This service evaluation looks at the effectiveness of the delivered training session and explores how it can be developed in the future. Quantitative responses analysed in a pre- and post-training questionnaire saw improvements in perceived knowledge of cognition and the impact of brain injury on cognition; and perceived confidence in working with people who experience cognitive impairments following brain injury. Qualitative responses conveyed a desire for future and longer training sessions, which will inform planned future training sessions.
