Score converter: A free online resource to aid score conversion, tabulation, and visualisation
Psychologists spend much time deriving and interpreting cognitive test scores. As test publishers vary in terms of which standard scores are provided (e.g. z score, T score) clinicians are often required to work with multiple metrics. Converting scores to a unified metric may aid interpretation, tabulation, and visualisation of test scores; however, manual conversion of scores is error-prone, imprecise, and time-intensive. Electronic tools are required for streamlining these processes. The current paper introduces Score Converter a freely available html web application for converting and presenting neuropsychological test data. A variety of standard score types, descriptor systems, and visualisation tools are available, providing the user with the ability to develop customised test score summary tables and plots. Future empirical research is needed to explore how visualisation and tabulation tools can aid, influence, or hinder the process of interpreting neuropsychological test data.
