Missile and Interceptor Production in the United States since 2022: Political Aspect

The collision of interests of the United States and its allies, on the one hand, and their potential opponents in various regions of the world, on the other, makes one think about the reserves and production capabilities of the main means of confrontation. This article is focused on offensive missiles with a range of less than 5500 km of various basing types and respective interceptor missiles. The main question in this area is: Will the US government and the US military industry be able to ensure the mass production of these weapons? To answer this question, the following topics should be considered: the annual dynamics of authorized production amounts and procurement of certain quantities of weapons in question in Fiscal Years 2022–2024; multiyear contracts; companies’ plans of production increase; the actual construction of new plants; measures to strengthen supply chains of components with traditional partner companies; and partnerships of American companies outside the United States to ensure the mass production of these weapons. It is concluded that companies undertake purposeful actions to prevent reversing the trend toward mass production of the weapons in question.
