Unveiling Ayurveda Perspective in Successful Treatment of Adenomyosis-Related Primary Infertility

Introduction:Adenomyosis is being diagnosed with rising incidences of associated infertility these days. Based on the correlation in Ayurveda, diagnosis was made and therapy was planned that not only resulted in relief of symptoms but also in achieving conception. Main Clinical Findings:We report a 33-year-old case diagnosed with primary infertility associated with adenomyosis for which she has been treated by allopathy medicine for the last 2½ years. Diagnosis:On correlation, a diagnosis of AnapatyaVandhya with Asrigdara was made. Intervention:The treatment plan included shamana therapy to achieve raktasthapana (restore the blood loss), followed by shodhana therapy. Outcome:The patient started experiencing improvement in symptoms within two cycles of treatment and in the 4th month of treatment, she missed her periods and had her UPT positive. She delivered a live female child of weight 2.9 kg through full-term cesarean section uneventfully. Conclusion:The present report unveils the Ayurveda perspective in the successful treatment of adenomyosis-related primary infertility.
