Cover Feature: Surveying the Homogeneity of a Molecular Electrocatalyst Embedded in a Metal‐Organic Framework Using Operando Characterization (ChemSusChem 24/2025)

The Cover Feature shows the molecular catalyst Cu-tmpaCOOH (tmpa = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine) embedded in a NU1000 metal organic framework (MOF), which loses its homogeneity during the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) reveals that the MOF-embedded Cu molecular catalysts transform into Cu nanoclusters <2 nm, which are identified as the active and stable structures responsible for the sustained ORR activity. More information can be found in the Research Article by D. G. H. Hetterscheid, S. Louisia and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/cssc.202501380).
