Perspectives in Designing Molecular Receptors Based on Aggregation Induced Emission‐Active Ferrocene Derivatives

Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) active ferrocene derivatives constitute an important class of molecular receptors featuring attractive optical and electrochemical properties, which are beneficial in terms of designing optical and electrochemical sensors for effective and selective detection of various classes of analytes. This work systematically summarizes the advances within this area of science during the last 15 years. General concepts related to molecule design, as well as properties and key features of the receptors are outlined, together with the discussion on the possible future developments in this attractive field.

This work systematically summarizes the advances within this area of science during the last 15 years.
